Do you have a low-carbon project worth showcasing?

“The World You Like Challenge” starting today wants creative and innovative minds from across the EU to put their low-carbon initiatives to the test and inspire others to follow suit.

“The World You Like Challenge” is a great opportunity to move beyond mere talking about climate change. By submitting your project, you show that building a world we like with a climate we like is feasible and affordable. And it won't make our lives dull and grey,” said Connie Hedegaard, EU Commissioner for Climate Action.

Who can participate?
What are the project criteria?

  •     Building & living
  •     Shopping & eating
  •     Re-use & recycling
  •     Travel & transport
  •     Innovative production

However big or small, any project that is helping to lower or avoid CO2 emissions and improve people’s quality of life can be submitted. Organizers are looking for the most original and pioneering low-carbon initiatives. Entries are welcome from individuals, entrepreneurs, businesses, public and private organisations - in fact, from anyone with good ideas!

European Commission is looking forward to receiving entries about original and innovative projects with a concrete and tangible output. What matters is that the project contributes to avoiding, reducing or dealing with carbon emissions – on a technical or behavioural level. Your project should illustrate good practice and provide a role model for other people or organisations. If it has an impact on people’s everyday life, even better – that is what we are looking for! You can submit your project in one of the following five categories:

The Challenge will be open for submissions for three months. You can submit your project via our online form and showcase it using text, photos or videos on our website.
