Grab a camera as an effort to combat the climate change
French-German television channel ARTE invites Lithuanians and every European to film their most favorite sites of the nature for which they would fight the climate change and demonstrate for politicians their concern about the changes happening due to global warming. All uploaded videos will be joint into one documentary and published just right before the 21st yearly Climate Change Conference (COP21) in November- December.
Europeans do know about the environmental problems. Everyone agrees that the time for action has come. They hope to do something. The only question remains – how to make a change. Solutions have to come from the higher bodies of governance. How to influence those who decide for our future? French-German television channel ARTE announced media project that allows sharing the unique nature experience. „Climate Ops will be a documentary film but first of all it will be a story of nature that is beloved by simple people. Is there any special place for you out in the nature? Is there a place that you want to protect and in case of strong climate change impact you would be distressed? “– film producers explain the idea of the movie. Europeans are invited to create videos of 1-3 minutes about their most favorite nature site and tell what makes it unique and important. „Documentary is not a fiction. The boundary between director and actor disappears. This is not a try No.100 to explain why the climate change is happening. And this is not a science popularization. This is the public involvement into discussion about the climate change. Let people talk, complain and defend themselves and the environment they love the most. Who else can express our concern better than we do? “– further explains the director of the movie.
