New initiative will improve open habitats in Nemunas delta

On 30 April presentation of the project "Creation of mechanisms to secure good quality of open habitats in Nemunas Delta Regional Park” to the local community, media and other stakeholders took place in Šilutė.

Lithuania Žymantas Morkvėnas and Rita Norvaišaitė, representatives from Baltic Environmental Forum, introduced the vision of Nemunas Delta region and project activities. According to the speakers, in this region it is possible to create cohesive self-supporting system based on nature conservation principles that drive entire economy and contributes to the region's prosperity.

The local residents attending the event engaged in a discussion about local economy and tourism.
