New information stands in project sites

How does water affect life in meadows of Sysa polder? What is so special about this habitat? What do Lithuanian orchids growing in Tyrai mire have in common with migroscopic fungi? These natural wonders and more are explained in new info-stands installed in project sites in Lithuania and Latvia.

Two of them are installed in Sysa polder – one at the crossroad of Rupkalviai village and another one at the new water pumping station. A new info-stand can be found in Tulkiarage polder at the turn towards the old water pumping station. Aquatic Warbler is presented as a "star" of Nemunas delta regional park in one more info-stand installed at the visitors' centre in Pakalne village. Tyrai site has its own dedicated information stand on the road Priekule-Dreverna at the Kind Wilhelm channel.

Project partners at the Zuvintas biosphere reserve directorate updated the  information platform at the Zuvintas lake. Latvian partners also prepared info-stands about Aquatic Warbler for visitors of lake Pape and lake Liepaja.

We are preparing for renovation of old water pumping station in Tulkiarage - it will be turned into bird-watching platform. Additionally, a nature path will be installed here. One more such path is planned for visitors of Tyrai mire.

Meanwhile, the visitors centre exhibition at Zuvintas Biosphere Reserve Directorate will have a new special section about Aquatic Warbler which was first seen in this are by prof. Tadas Ivanauskas.
